About

The Lloydsville VFD is a 100% volunteer fire and rescue service seated in the village of Lloydsville, Unity Township, Pennsylvania.

From one centralized station, our service provides fire, rescue, and emergency medical first response to over 27 square miles of Unity Township north of Route 30. Members of the department spend countless hours working hard to serve the citizens of our service area in training, drilling, keeping up equipment, and of course responding to all kinds of emergency calls.

Our Certifications

The department boasts a certification level from the PA State Fire Academy recongizing us as a silver level certified department, meaning over 50% of our members have completed the required training by state recommendations as certified firefighters, including Firefighter 1 and Hazardous Materials Operations Level Responders. Some members have worked hard at attaining national rescue technician certification and furthered their resumes with specialized rescue training.

The department encourages medical training as well to their firefighters, with 4 PA Dept. of Health BLS providers and 5 PA Dept. of Health ALS providers. The department assists the local ambulance service with first response when needed. Our department actively participates in Rapid Intervention services for neighboring departments, helping keep our responders safe.
