This page is dedicated to fallen firefighter, our own Nathan Andrew Pescatore.
Nathan Andrew Pescatore was a dedicated 17-year-old volunteer firefighter with the Lloydsville Volunteer Fire Department in Latrobe, Pennsylvania. On July 2, 2000, while responding to an emergency call, he tragically lost his life in a motor vehicle accident.
Born on May 4, 1983, in Latrobe, Nathan was the son of Gloria Sue Sproch Pescatore and the late William J. Pescatore. He was a student at Greater Latrobe High School and worked at R&M Machine Shop. An avid outdoorsman, Nathan enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also a member of Holy Family Roman Catholic Church.
Nathan’s commitment to his community was evident through his volunteer work with the Lloydsville Fire Department. He had been a member since 1998 and became a senior member upon turning 17. His dedication to service was a testament to his character and the values he upheld.
In honor of his memory, the Lloydsville Volunteer Fire Department and the township renamed the street leading to their fire station to “Nathan Pescatore Way.” This gesture ensures that his legacy continues to inspire future generations.
Additionally, the Nathan A. Pescatore Memorial Scholarship Fund was established to support graduating seniors from Westmoreland County high schools pursuing studies in science, technology, engineering, manufacturing, fire, or health care. This scholarship reflects Nathan’s passion for learning and his desire to contribute to his community.
Nathan’s untimely passing serves as a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made by volunteer firefighters. His dedication, enthusiasm, and love for his community continue to be remembered and honored by those who knew him.
