This morning, the first due alarm was activated for a reported house fire just yards from our fire station. Upon arrival, crews held the box for an outside controlled burn with no need for fire department services.

This afternoon, a report of a garbage truck on fire in our first due was dispatched. Upon arrival, crews found a large pile of refuse on fire on the street, that was dumped promptly by the quick thinking truck driver to avoid any damage to his garbage truck.

Over the last 24 hours, the LLVFD has responded to about 15 calls largely due to the area wind storm that passed through. Most of the runs consisted of tree and wire issues that were handled by FD resources or sent to the appropriate utility company for handling.
