This evening, Station 114 and surrounding companies responded to a report of smoke in the building at a first due apartment complex. Upon arrival crews found an audible alarm with nothing evident. While investigating, crews found odors of cigarette smoke with nothing else found.

Rescue, Utility, and Brush 114 took in an MVA with minor entrapment tonight on Latrobe-Crabtree Road near the Lloydsville Sportsmans grounds in 114 first due. Crews were requested by ems to remove the drivers door of the black SUV to safely extricate the driver.

This evening, Rescue 114 was activated for a report of a vehicle accident with entrapment on US Route 30. Upon arrival, crews found one patient entangled in the vehicle, but was uninjured. Crews freed the individual without further issue.

Today's storms provided the LLVFD with a few runs. Crews took in an automatic fire alarm at Saint Vincent College but were cancelled shortly after dispatch by Engineer 117. Crews then took in a tree struck by lightning and on fire in the Unity Cemetery grounds.

The recent heavy rain has kept crews from Team 175 (Lloydsville, Bradenville, New Alex) busy with multiple calls. From evacuating residents in Ligonier Twp. to assisting a driver stuck in water, crews have put in multiple hours of their time helping the public.

Rescue 114 along with Westmoreland County Team 148 responded to a fatal trench collapse this afternoon. Crews worked for hours to free the victim, but unfortunately, their efforts were futile. Our thoughts go out to the friends and family impacted.

Crews were activated to the report of an odor of gas in numerous occupied dwellings. Upon arrival, crews assisted with evacuation, investigation and ventilation. Crews determined the odor was actually gasoline as a result of maintenance cleaning paint brushes.
