11-20-21
At 16:50 the Engine and Tanker were dispatched to Youngstown Station 39 for standby. After being there for a short period of time, we were requested to the scene to assist Chestnut Ridge Station 110 with a Junk Yard fire on Junkyard Express Lane off Armel Hollow Road in Cook Township. Lieutenant 114 (Rubino) was assigned water officer for the incident. Engine 114 setup a draft site which included 3 portable ponds. Tanker 114 ran water from a remote site in Baggaley and dumped 11 loads of water. It is estimated during the night 300,000 gallons of water were moved to the fire between all the tanker shuttles. In all, volunteers from 12 companies and from 3 separate counties responded to the call and operated for almost 12 hours. A great job done by all!
