Lloydsville Purchaces Stop the Bleed Bags
Sat. Jul 13th 2019

In todays day and age, non-traditional tasks have been added to our mission. Today we put 8 stop the bleed bags into service on our apparatus. Each bag contains enough equipment to care for up to 4 victims who may be injured in shootings, stabbings, or other incidents where bleeding needs controlled. Unity Township has provided each department with 1 bag, and the LLVFD decided to purchase the remaining 7 bags to ensure we are well equipped if the need should arise. The department boasts a number of EMT's, Paramedics, and Pre-Hospital Registered Nurses who are trained in the use of this equipment, and non-medical trained members have undergone extensive stop the bleed training to ensure these bags can be put to good use no matter who is on the truck. Just another way we are moving forward to provide our community with excellent service.
